We're Back!

Well, I am sure some of you have wondered where we have been and what we have been up to. All I can say is A lot! With Spring being here we have had several projects going on, have made a few trips, and are counting down the days until this school year is over with. Chris is busy working on his masters in teaching, and I am getting ready to start mine this summer in library science. In addition, one of our projects lately was our landscaping and it is pretty much finished, but we still have a few finishing touches we need to complete (maybe this next weekend) and then we should be about done. As soon as it is all done I will share the before and after photos. It has been fun to see the transformation!

This weekend was another fun one for us because we got to take a trip to visit my sister-in-law Kelly, brother-in-law Scott, and baby Harper! This was actually our second time to see Harper, but the first time we met her she was very sick and not awake in the NICU. But now she is 3 months old and is a healthy baby girl, and sooo cute too! We took the day off on Friday and drove to see them. When we arrived that afternoon, Chris' parents, Judy and Steve, were there too! It was nice spending the evening with them as well. For the rest of the weekend we mostly just loved on little miss Harper and laughed at everything she did, even if she was not too happy with us at times oohing and ahhing over her.

Happy Birthday Anne!

Today is another very special day in our family! It is my cousin Anne's Birthday!

Happy Birthday Anne!

Anne Mann 1

I am so blessed to have Anne in my life. Growing up she was such a wonderful role model for my sister and I. For as long as I can remember, whenever my mom used to discipline us or encourage us to do the right thing, she always used Anne (and Michael, her brother) as examples. So, because we thought they were the coolest people ever we listened with all ears. Now today, I am even more lucky to live in the same town as Anne along with her great family, and she still continues to be a role model for me and not to mention a wonderful person to go to whenever I am in need of some good advice. Both she and her husband David have three beautiful kids and unfortunately I only had a pic of her with two of her kiddos and her dad! (Sorry Anne! I am slowly getting better at taking good photos!) Either way, I hope you have a very Happy Birthday today!

We love you!

For those of you who don't know my Uncle Willy, he is truly the most loving, generous, and kindest person you will ever meet. He is always going out of his way for others and he is a friend to everyone. Growing up my sister and I always thought of Uncle Willy as our second dad. As young kids he made a point to be at every important event in our lives whether it was a piano recital or us just cheerleading at a football game, and he still goes out of his way today to do the same.
Uncle Willy you are the greatest uncle on earth and I hope you have a very special Birthday today! We love you!

CLH Reunion

Last night, after 15 long years, I got the chance to reunite with some of my best friends from Camp Longhorn over dinner!  We had sooo much fun and it felt like it was just yesterday as we sat and reminisced about all of our wonderful summer memories together. It was so fun catching up with everyone and hearing about their lives today.

I went to Camp Longhorn in Burnet, Texas for six years. And I think if I am correct, I started the year after 5th grade, and went until I was a Sophomore in High School. I always went to the third term of the summer and it was an awesome 3 weeks of activities, sun, blobbing, campfires, and great friends.

For those of you who have ever gone to a summer camp then you know the special life long bond that you can have with the friends you make. However, for me, being that Camp Longhorn was the second camp I went to as a young girl, I truly believe that it was different from the others and a very special place that played a big part in making me who I am today.  I think everyone I know who has had the opportunity to go to Camp Longhorn feels the same way.

So, of course we had a great time!  What's even better is that we all live in the same city, so we have no more excuses not to get together all the time now!

Pictured  here next to me are Alison and Lauren, and across from me are Katie and Julianne.

(Our waiter took the picture so it was a little weird looking!)
